Very Rare 1964 single, I've Been Crying, by the Denny Mitchell Soundsations

Description

The Denny Mitchell Soundsations were a 5 piece band, based in Bromley, Kent.  "Denny Mitchell" was, in fact, one John Harrison, who was a multi-talented young man, who could sing well and played guitar and keyboards. I knew him personally quite well for many years.  I can only remember one other member of the band, the drummer, Mickey Breslin, who was a very  competent drummer. When signed to Decca in '64, the publicity cited them as being Decca's "hottest signing for years", but that may have been something to do with the fact they had not long rejected the Beatles.  Harrison got bored very quickly with the pop scene - he'd achieved what he wanted to do in having a single out - and went on to other things, including stage management, owning a restaurant, importing central vacuum cleaners from the USA, until he made a short-lived comeback with a comic group, called "half a pound of bananas", appearing on Opportunity Knocks, winning it for 6 weeks on the trot.  They were very good live, I remember Johnny Pod played the "pole", basically a pole with a cross piece, that had a rubber foot, numerous metal bottle tops loosely attached, plus a metal pot, cowbells and sundry other percussion items, he was great on that!  Not long after that period, Harrison passed away at a relatively young age, unfortunately. This single is in excellent condition and still has the original sleeve, also in good condition, with no writing on either item.  The serial number is F.11848 and it plays very well, with no skip, jumps or scratches.
