Description
Very Rare Ma Rainey And Her Georgia Jazz Band Featuring A Young Louis Armstrong.
Countin' The Blues Take 2/ Jelly Bean Blues
Paramount 12338
Looks G+, Plays VG
A piece of Jazz and blues history. An original 1924 Paramount recorded in Chicago by Madame Ma featuring a 23 year old Satchmo on his way out of King Olivers band and onto even greater things.
The record is worn with a certain amount of hiss and crackle as is more often the case with these old Paramounts but plays through far better than it looks with all of Ma's vim and vigour. If you sound this good at 98 I'll have what you're drinking.
A good example.
