- One of the rarest ( and for me one of the greatest ) version of the Bach's Sonatas and Partitas . Marie Annick Nicolas is one of the greatest French violinist of all time and by a great and absurd mystery she is practically totally forgotten today . ( as a solo concertist ) The depthness of the expression , the beauty of the sound ( "et du chant" ) belong to the very best French violin school and tradition . And , of course , all those qualities belong to Marie Annick Nicolas in the first place . Her interpretation is totally true and sincere . She is a real poetess .
