Description
1970 R&B Beau Dollar - "Who Knows" & "(I Wanna Go) Where The Soul Trees Grow" - produced by James Brown on King Records. This is an exceptionally clean near mint record. With King record sleeve. A rare find and a must have for the funk collector. This is the only single credited to Beau Dollar as a solo performer; previously billed as 'Beau Dollar and the Dapps'.

According to Jason's review on funk45.com:
"Who Knows" is the only 45 that is credited to Beau Dollar as a solo-artist. Basically it was Beau Dollar and The Dapps, who released only one single under that name, "I'll Be Sweeter Tomorrow", on King 1969, before they broke up later that year. You can hear them backing other artists on singles: The Soul Believers and The Dapps (King 1968), The Dapps featuring Alfred Pee Wee Ellis (two releases, both on King 1968), Hank Ballard an The Dapps (again two 45s, again both on King and released in 1968 -"How You Gonna Get Respect"- and 1969 -"You're So Sexy"-). Since they were discovered by James Brown in 1965 and played on quite some of his releases, eg "I Can't Stand Myself (When You Touch Me)". "Who Knows" was released in 1970 on King with the b-side "I Wanna Go Where The Soul Trees Go" and was produced by James Brown.

"Who Knows" was also covered beautifully by The Soul Providers a few years ago for their "Gimme The Paw" album on Desco.
