Description
Hi, and thanks for looking! This auction is for a very rare 1975 LP by the Virginia rock band Albatross. The title is “Rockin’ The Sky”. This album was recorded locally at the JRM studio in Salem, VA and put out on the Dominion label with apparently a very low number made. The music is surprisingly awesome, with a strong southern hard rock sound but mixing some psychedelic influences and maybe even some funk bass. It reminds me of what it would be like if John Mellencamp was in Lynyrd Skynyrd with some guys from Deep Purple. It’s really cool and fun to listen to all the way through. The first words on the record are “I’m high, and I’m drunk, and I’m ready to fight..”. These guys were ahead of their time for 1975 in my opinion. The record is in pretty good condition, I am saying VG. Side 1 is nearly flawless but side 2 has some crackle just starting off and then a light scratch that starts towards the end of B1 and goes a little into B2. It plays all the way through with no skips. It has a very slight edge warp but not enough to cause any issues on my equipment. I have run it through my spin cleaner. There is no inner jacket. If there was one, it was probably just plain paper. Condition is Used, VG+. Shipped with USPS.
