Collectors, here is a wonderful copy of 7 inch Victor record #857, "Auction Sale of Household Goods" performed by early recording artists Len Spencer and Joe Girard, a funny exchange between these two gentlemen. Record plays fairly well, there is surface noise but you can hear the dialogue clearly. Back sticker has date of January 1,1904 with 50 cent price. 7 inch records competed with Edison and Columbia cylinder records, the size was discontinued around 1907. This is a proper 1904 copy with no exhibition prize notices at label top and 50 cent price (price discounted to 35 cents in 1905). They are pretty scarce, how many still exist 116 years later??
