Description
How often do you see this record offered for sale? This gem is from my personal collection and does not come up for sale much anymore. It is a Victor long playing program transcription complete with the original sleeve! Even these sleeves are super hard to get! This is one of the very best of these rare discs and the only one I know of that offers real jazz as opposed to early 1930s popular material. This is number L-16007 performed by Duke Ellington. The titles are: East St. Louis Toddle, Lot O' Fingers and Black And Tan Fantasy. Titles 1 and 3 feature the orchestra and title 2 is a red hot example of stride piano and is a solo. It is rather incredible and so great. Duke is all over the piano.
The record is in really great shape and is well deserving of the E to E+ grade. I have been working with old records all my life and understand the grading system. This record has no stressed grooves or digs and plays quite excellent on modern equipment. It is a true joy to hear and a rare gem for Ellington fans. The bonus here is that you get the rare original sleeve in which this record has probably been stored in since new. I bought this from a local collector who had it for quite some time before selling it to me. I have had it for about 20 years.
I encourage questions from serious bidders and will do my best to address any and all concerns. A fair starting bid has been assigned to this auction and the disc will be sold to the highest bidder without reserve. It will be expertly packed in a heavy box to prevent breakage. I accept money orders or personal checks ONLY. No Paypal. Thanks for viewing my auction and good luck.
