78rpm Victor Test Pressing - Recorded for Radio Broadcast Use - End of Prohibition Radio Program Advertising for Rheingold Beer Victor mx. LBS-77551 -1 Recorded circa August 1933
10-inch, one-sided vinyl Victor test - Recorded at 33-1/3 rpm but plays with 78rpm stylus (do not play with steel needle) Original recording date circa August 1933 Announcer with Orchestra and sound effects, recorded on 2 separate tracks (1st for program beginning, 2nd for program ending)
Pre-recorded beginning / ending of 1933 Rheingold Radio Program, with announcer, music and effects. Orchestra plays OctoberFest-type music behind the announcer... The Brewers of Rheingold Present Shirley Howard, The Rheingold Girl of The Air ... and Sigmund Spaeth... Program ending recording has announcer extolling the virtues of Rheingold beer, etc... Rheingold music plays out afterward... ... Rheingold is "Pure, Full Strength and Brewed under the Blue Eagle of the NRA" (the broadcast program between the opening and closing would have been broadcast live) Recorded not long after Prohibition was ended and "full strength" beer was again allowed in the country.
