Description

This offer is for two 16 2/3 RPM vinyl records and one non-matching sleeve. Between 1956 and 1958 Chrysler tried to create the first option to radio entertainment in autos - the precursor to 8-tracks, cassettes, CD's, etc. It was a grand failure. Columbia records produced a dozen or more record selections to play on the in-car system. They were mostly pop and classical - not rock n' roll. They were micro-grooved in order to put an album's length of music on a 7" disc - thus avoiding continuous changing of records in a moving auto. They will not play on standard turn-tables. These would make a great wall display or addition to your curio vinyl collection - or, if you had a '57 Chrysler, well. .... The records include: music from The Pajama Game on one vinyl and on the other: Paul Weston and his orchestra playing Quiet Jazz and Percy Faith and his orchestra playing Romantic Moods. The sleeve is for a vinyl with: Tchaikovskyy's Symphony No. 6, Borodin's Polovtsian Dances, etc. Thanks for looking.
