This listing features 7 LP 33 rpm records in a boxed set, "six eye", published in 1959: Columbia Masterworks, "Beethoven: The Nine Symphonies", recorded by the Columbia Symphony Orchestra, Bruno Walter conducting. The Columbia catalog number is D7 L265.
The Columbia Symphony Orchestra was formed by Columbia Records for the purpose of making recordings. Perhaps the most important recordings the company made were with conductor Bruno Walter, who recorded highly regarded interpretations of Beethoven, Mozart, and Brahms symphonies. Bruno Walter is considered to be one of the great conductors of the 20th Century.
This boxed set of Beethoven's Nine Symphonies has been well cared for by its original owner. I acquired the set from the original owner's estate. The box (album) has a few bumps on the corners and some light soiling from use. The original owner has recorded her name on the inside cover of the box within an "Ex Libris" label. The 7 LP records are in excellent condition--no noticeable scratches. The original owner has written her name on each disc's paper label. Other than that, everything appears in excellent condition, including each of the seven individual sleeves that holds each record. The original plastic cover is still being used to hold each record before it is placed in its sleeve. See the "seller's notes" and photos for more condition details.
