Description
HRH PRINCESS ELIZABETH - A BROADCAST MESSAGE TO CHILDREN, October 13th 1940
Rare HMV 10-inch shellac record, 78rpm, in used condition. RBS 9111.
An incredibly hard record to find - this is the first available record to ever feature the Queen, when she was a young woman, who gave a message of hope to children in the second year of the World War. This was a radio broadcast quickly released following the broadcast by HMV, who sold it as a charity record.
This plays fine on my Crosley record player and is in exceptional condition, but has some of the mild crackle you'd expect from a shellac record of this vintage.
1. A Broadcast Message to Children
2. No song - etched on this side with 'His Master's Voice'
Having sold on eBay for over a decade (my main account is a business account), I have an excellent track record of successfully sending these incredibly fragile 78 shellac records. But all my sales of shellac are fully insured for damage in transit, for complete peace of mind.
Please see my other auctions for lots more vintage classical 78s!
