Up for sale is a premium, hand-curated collector lot of four (4) original 1960s/1970s jazz-funk 7" 45 RPM singles pressed on the legendary Blue Note Records label.
This stack features classic rare grooves, highly sampled tracks, and iconic productions by the Mizell Brothers. A fantastic pack for jazz DJs, crate diggers, or collectors looking to bolster their rare groove collection.
Lot Includes The Following 4 Titles:
1. Donald Byrd – "Slop Jar Blues" / "Black Byrd" (Blue Note / United Artists, 1973)
- Iconic jazz-funk masterpiece arranged and produced by Larry Mizell. Highly collectible.
2. Bobbi Humphrey – "Blacks and Blues" / "Harlem River Drive" (Blue Note / United Artists, 1973)
- The first female instrumentalist signed to Blue Note. Essential jazz-funk double-sider produced by the Mizell Brothers.
3. Stanley Turrentine – "Smile, Stacey (Part 1 & Part 2)" (Blue Note, 45-1845)
- Classic hard-bop/soul-jazz gold featuring Turrentine’s signature muscular tenor saxophone tone.
4. Ronnie Foster – "Slowly We Walk Together" / "Mystic Brew" (Blue Note, 1972)
- Rare soul-jazz organ groove. "Mystic Brew" is famously sampled by A Tribe Called Quest for "Electric Relaxation."
Condition:
The records and center labels are in beautiful, glossy, clean shape. Labels feature vibrant colors with sharp text, no major rips, no standard ink markings, and crisp center rings. Vinyl surfaces look highly preserved and well-cared for. A couple of singles include their original inner paper sleeves.
Shipping: Will be wrapped securely inside protective sleeves and packed tightly between thick cardboard inserts inside a dedicated record mailer. Shipped via USPS Media Mail with tracking included.
