Description
This listing is for an authentic vintage copy of the original vinyl version of The Smashing Pumpkins "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness,” released in 1996.
It is a very rare promo copy, and is numbered 0725, limited edition.
?Please see all photos and read all details before bidding.?
I bought this album for my husband back in ‘96 or ‘97. I believe I had it shipped from a record store in NYC, but I don’t remember the details.
Released in 1996, this 3 record set was a numbered, limited edition. This one is No 0725.
On the back is a sticker that reads “Promotional Copy. Not for Sale.”
?We only listened to the previously unreleased songs when we first got it. Since then, it’s been stored in a closet or storage tote.
The cover, corners and spine have some damage. There are also tears in the cardboard sleeve on the top and bottom. (See photos)
?The booklet, inner sleeves, albums and labels all look pretty good to me, but on the “dawn” side, there is what appears to be some discoloration in the vinyl, where the plastic lining of the sleeve pressed against it. Not sure what it is. Doesn’t seem like it would affect sound. You can see it in the photo above, near the reflection.
Also, on the “midnight” side there is a small scratch. In the photo above, it is just to the left of the reflection.
I’ve tried to describe/photograph this set as best as I can, but please look closely at the photos to judge the condition for yourself, as I’m certainly no expert.
Also, I don’t have access to a turntable, so I can’t play it to test sound quality.
?Accordingly, I’m starting this at a low opening price, and selling “as-is."
I will ship this item within four business days of payment clearing.
Thanks for looking.
