Description
This is a Vogue picture 78 RPM sized 10" with different gorgeously romantic scenes on each side. These Vogue picture records are unique and fairly rare as they were produced by the Sav-Way Industries company for a very limited timeframe, only a little over a year (from May 1946 - Aug 1947). This record is # R710 which features The Bells of St. Mary's on one side and Star Dust on the other, both performed by The Don Large Chorus. The picture is in great condition and would be appropriate for those that use these records as wall hangings as has still vivid colors, no chips or other noticeable visual damage. While there are a few scratches as described next and shown in pictures that are seen when viewed from an angle in light, the record plays all the way through on both sides with no skipping or repeating loops. The sound is very retro and nice. As with most records of this era, there is some crackling sound when played but not excessive and just sounds retro. Comes in a tan paper sleeve in good condition but that does show very mild stains, a small hole tear and some bends as seen in pictures. Record could stand to have a cleaning.
* Star Dust side - No long or deeper scratches with some very surface, light short scratches and two slightly larger (.5"), slightly deeper scratches and a longer shallow scratch about 2.5" . Engraved 10 - 1A at the inner circle.
* Bells of St. Mary's side - No long or deeper scratches with some very surface, light short scratches and two slightly larger (.75"), slightly deeper scratches. Engraved 9 - 1B at the inner circle.
