Gotten extinct as of late, a really hard find, sought after hard heavy early 1970 progressive rock ...the very first BIRTH CONTROL...original first pressing on the underground Prophesy label ...

The heaviest BIRTH CONTROL had to offer, though they made several albums and were a popular pioneering 'Krautrock' band, none of their albums were consitantly as hard'n'heavy as their 1970 first...loaded with mean riffing chops, grizzly dirty distortion guitar battling surging Hammond organ and gravel throaty vocals...Birth Control #1 is on fire...

Sonic inspirations from 1970...driving heavy rock with a great dose of progressive moves. The music is largely dominated by epic Hammond organ sequences and fuzzing guitar sections.

"No Drugs" climaxes the album: a venomous, aggressive, dark composition with austere melody, searing guitar lines and infectious sound. There are some excellent numbers here. "Recollection" and the long "Sundown" are the highlights. Both feature great organ play and fuzz guitar ...the latter has an excellent upbeat tempo. They are the pure sound collectors of the genre seek.

This album also features other strong tracks like "Deep Inside" & "Foolish Action". Surprisingly, the vocals are pretty decent which is not always the case with German bands.

The cover of "Light My Fire" fits perfectly well in their repertoire. The sound of the organ is of course not the Manzarek one, but, for sure, this version is quite good. Faster than the great original.

This first BIRTH CONTROL has become increasingly difficult to find.

VERY collection worthy appearance ...

The vinyl: Rated: M- TOP COPY, all clean, play back should not reveal  alarming distracting surface problems, only pure joy!  ...  both Prophesy labels are clean

EX   Faint scuff or superficial mark, near M-, high gloss, plays clean

VG+ a bit more scuff or markls still plays well with very minimal surface at worse

VG   more marks/scratches only minor, nothing deep, no loud clicks or pops
