Description
A specialist book and double vinyl record set 'Wonderful Inventions' - Motion Pictures, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound at the Library of Congress. As the fly cover says - 'A wonderful invention' relates to the ingenuity of the phonograph, and this collection explores the use of music with film. The tracks on the records follows the order of their discussion in the essays in the book. This collection is likely to be better received and understood by someone with a knowledge of music (some of the essays have examples of music scores) and a love of film - I think it is probably in too much depth for a casual user. Both the book and the record are in very good condition - they have been stored in the box they were originally posted in so the dust cover on the book is not faded, and the records are unmarked (no scratches) but the spine of the LP cover is a little worn from rubbing against the box. I believe the date of publication is 1985. As there is some considerable weight to this set, I will post via MyHermes, as it will be cheaper than the post office.
