Description
This is a Voo-Doo Church - self titled clear red vinyl 12" on Sudden Death Records of Simi Valley California from 1982, # BC 666. I am not a fan of the goldmine record grading scale many use.I use a 10 scale.On a 10 scale the vinyl is a solid 8.75. The colored vinyl did not have much affect on the sound of this one(sometimes does) and there are minimal scratches. The jacket is an 8.75 too,it has minor scuffs on the lower jacket edge and the jacket opening (where you put the record in) stays open about an inch (though that would not be an issue to me,you?).It does have the insert with lyrics.Ed Colver took the photos and designed the layout,which adds to their pedigree. I bought this at a store called Record Mart in Cocoa,Florida in 1982. Voo-Doo Church were one of the cutting edge/pioneer type deathrock death punk bands of the day.They had one foot in the punk hardcore bands that played at say The Masque and the other foot in the goth side of the Hell Comes To Your House comp LP. I could say this is like a cross between 45 Grave and Christian Death,but really this band had it's own thing. Imagine good brooding female vocals were they to sing Dogs and maybe a mid tempo Romeo's Distress from the 1st Christian Death LP,without Rikk Agnew on guitar. Ironic since Rikk played with Voo-Doo Church in the 90s. Great record. The songs are: Eyes-Second Death, Steeple Walls, Live With The Dead and Rest In Peace. . Let's expand on that since ebay wants a disclaimer now on shipping out of the USA. You need to know the customs rules of your own country. You have to pay the fees,tariffs,etc if there are any when the item gets to your country. Customs forms have to be accurate as well. I will send stuff First Class at your risk,your decision. First Class is untracked and uninsured.Well,it is somewhat trackable as to where/when it leaves the USA,but things can get sketchy when trying to use tracking number in your home country. That means if the package is lost,due to there being no/minimal tracking,it is more or less impossible to find. Even more important is that there is no insurance on it,so if it is lost your refund money is lost. No refund on lost First Class packages. Think hard about shipping Priority. It is more expensive (way more in some cases),but tracked and insured. So,even if the package was lost you get your money back. You have to decide if the risk of First Class is worth the money you save on shipping.That is up to you. Media Mail in the US is $2.53US Priority is $5.80US. Canada First class is $10.55US Priority is $28.25US. UK/Europe/South America First Class is $16.75US Priority is $42.00US. Japan/Pacific Rim First Class is $16.75US Priority is $42.50US. I repeat,First Class is at you own risk.
