Walter Jackson was another R&B great who died entirely too early. He was only 45 when a cerebral hemorrhage felled him like a tree. He had a great run of it, charting singles in the R&B charts for Okeh beginning in 1964, and running up to 1967. Even beyond Okeh, he still had hits well into the mid '80s, including a soul version of the lounge ballad 'Feelings'!

Many of Walter's songs have become favorites with the Northern Soul collectors and this one's among them. The big, heartfelt ballad "It's An Uphill Climb To The Bottom" is a great track and you'll find it here on this original Okeh 45rpm. It's flipped with "Tear For Tear."
