This sale is for a great album from the iconic Wanda Jackson. Wanda is known as the Rockabilly Queen. She met and toured with Elvis Presley in the 1950s as he was just coming up and becoming a star. She said that he said if she started playing a mix of the Country & Western she was singing and Rock-N-Roll that she would be a star. Also her being a woman playing this type of “Rockabilly” like he did would drive the teenage crowds crazy. It did and Wanda became a star and was known as the Rockabilly Queen!!

This album was released in 1960 on Capitol Records. This was the first edition or pressing of this release. This was released as part of their Star Line. Being this was the first release it was recorded in Monophonic Microgroove. Then later it was released in stereo.

Musically this album is 50s-60s styled rock-n-roll and rockabilly. This is a rockin album all the way thru,both sides 1 and 2. This album is really rockin and would even make a presbyterian dance!!

This is a Rockabilly classic and one of her most popular albums of all time. This platter of vinyl contains super popular songs that she has played live her whole career.

It’s also cool that Wanda actually wrote and recorded some of her own songs. This wasn’t common for women back then. The ones she didn’t write you made them her own by adding the spunky Wanda attitude.

This album is a Rockabilly Classic. This album was released in 1960, this album is 61 years old!! You don’t see this original mono version of this album very often. You especially don’t usually find them in good playable shape!! The condition of this album is listed as "Used". I have played this album thru twice on both sides. It has played fine and I have had an enjoyable time rockin out to it!! There are not any skips, hops or getting stuck in a groove. There is some record noise, you know the crackles and pops you hear on almost every used record, even much newer records, This is a 61 year old used record, usually used records found this old, do not look near as good!! While you can hear the record noise when the record plays, it’s not so bad that it overpowers and drowns out the music. It is of course more noticeable in between tracks and soften moments.

I am not a record grading professional,and sales value expert. I am not grading by goldmine or any other professional vinyl standard. I am just using my eyes and ears. The record looks pretty good to me with no visible deep scratches. I also don’t notice any other standout blemishes on either side of the LP.

Now my eyes and ears might work,see and hear differently than yours. I know there are lots of vinyl snobs out there that will criticize the smallest pop or blemish. So let me say this again. The record is described as a used LP. It is sold as is!! I promise it will play without skips. I do not promise anything else!! I will say this though,if I did not believe it would play well enough to be enjoyed, and to also be a valuable collectible. I would not offer it for sale. I want you to enjoy this album, and feel you got a good deal on it. I also value my feedback and don’t sell junk!!

I also believe that if you have one of those professional vinyl cleaning machines, and if you run it thru the cleaner, that it will clean the 60 years of buildup in the grooves and probably make it sound like a new record!!

This is a hard to find record, and a must have album for any Wanda Jackson fan and classic vinyl collector. This mono version is a highly sought after record, and more valuable than the stereo version.
