Item for sale is an original, SEALED copy of WAR's self-titled 1971 release on United Artists.  The record MINT and has never been played. There is a very small piece of the shrink missing from the front lower left corner and some corner wear on the lower right. Other than that it is PERFECT. This was WAR's first album without Eric Burden. Here is the description from Allmusic.com...

War's first album without Eric Burdon was a strange, imposing, and beautiful hybrid -- a bridge between their then-current work with Burdon and their roots, going back to the early '60s and their origins as the Creators and the Nightshift. Although it was never a hit -- topping out at number 190 on the charts -- or yielded any substantial AM radio hits, the album is musically imposing in its sheer breadth, and its boldness, melding the new and the best of the old update, incorporating songs, arrangements, and ideas that dated well back into the prior decade, and the group's origins as the Creators and the Nightshift. From the quietly soaring 1971-vintage opener "Sun Oh Son," the music drifts back into the heavily Memphis soul-influenced "Lonely Feelin'," updated slightly but basically a rousing '60s blues-cum-gospel number that somehow ended up a failed single off the album. From there the album goes totally into left field with the gospel-style "Back Home," featuring lyrics provided by no less a figure than the Animals' Hilton Valentine. "War Drums" is a killer showcase for Charles Miller's tenor sax, Dee Allen's percussion, and Lonnie Jordan's organ, and "Vibeka" is a haunting, slow, bluesy workout, inspired by romance, tragedy, and realization, showcasing composer Lee Oskar's blues harp and Howard Scott's guitar. "Fidel's Fantasy" gets into wholly experimental territory with its length, and the topical political message seems an oddity today, but there's no questioning its musical boldness.

NOTE:  Sealed items are collectible because they are sealed.  Since I do not own a store, I cannot return items to the manufacturer.  Once opened, I cannot refund the purchase price because opening significantly affects its value.

NOTE:  Due to the present rules under Paypal, I can now ship internationally ONLY VIA PRIORITY MAIL.  If you are outside the US, Priority International is the standard shipping, due to the fact that under Paypal rules, delivery tracking must be included on EVERY package outside the US.  The cost depends upon the weight and the country of destination.  I will provide the cost for each option in my post-auction invoice (and, again, I can provide the info during the auction, if you e-mail me your zip code and the number of records).  To Canada, it will be $21.50USD for one LP.  To most other countries, it will be about $29.50USD for one LP.  I recognize that this will result in much higher shipping costs and I apologize for this change, but it is necessary under the Paypal rules now in effect. I am not a dealer, and all of the items I place up for auction are from my personal collection gathered over the past forty years (education expenses – and soon-to-be college expenses -- are the reason I am selling my collection...). 

The shipping costs are as follows: $4.00 for one LP via media mail to anywhere in the U.S.   Each additional LP is an additional $0.40 for media mail shipping.  Priority shipping within the U.S. is a function of weight and postal zone, and I will e-mail an invoice indicating the cost of priority (I can also provide this info while the auction is pending, if you e-mail me your zip code and the number of LPs). 

Insurance through the USPS is available, and once again my invoice will provide the cost information. 

NOTE – there is no tracking of packages through the USPS without delivery confirmation.  If you would like tracking ability, you must purchase delivery confirmation for $0.75. 

International Buyers – Please Note:

·         Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.

·         Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

·         These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.

·         We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as "gifts" - US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.

I will always combine items, so that your shipping costs will be more manageable.  Payment may be made by paypal.  If I do not receive payment for an item within fifteen (15) days of the end of the auction and I do not hear from you in response to e-mails, I will consider the auction results void and relist the item(s) for auction.
