Year of Release: 1972

Country of Origin: UK

CONDITION

Gatefold Sleeve: Excellent (+)

The beautiful matt textured gatefold sleeve is in really SUPERB condition with only very minimal and light wear. The seams and corners have only a very little rubbing, the open out edges have only a little light feathering. The spine is one of the very few swirls without text of any sort and is arrow straight excellent + near mint condition with only a couple of very tiny little marks. The inside gatefold is in fantastic condition and is clean and bright. The only other sign of  wear ( and it is extremely minimal) is to the very very tips of the corners. On very close inspection you an see a couple of very, very minor almost unoticeable tiny creases on the front and minimal fading near lower edge. The inside of the gatefold is unmarked and beautifully clean.

There are NO rips, NO tears and NO unwanted writing anywhere.  Even the inside of the cover is in AMAZING condition with NO yellowing, NO grubbyness, NO ringwear, NO rubbing, NO sticker tears, NO hand writing!!!!  The cover must grade Excellent+ if not better and is simply IMPOSSIBLE to find like this!!!!  AWESOME COVER!!!! A very fine example of this fragile and superb VERTIGO cover which is so often trashed!! It would be hard to find a significantly better copy of this fabulous gatefold cover!!!

Swirl Vertigo Polylined Inner Sleeve: Excellent

Has some fairly light creases near the edges and corners.....No splits, No writing....

Labels: Excellent

Clean unmarked labels with NO sticker marks, NO unwanted writing , NO tears....A few spindle traces are evident under a strong angled light....

Vinyl: Excellent

The Record Plays Virtually Mint!!!

Both sides of this fantastic album still have that JUST PRESSED LOOK with deep black shine and they still retain their original LUSTRE and GLOSSY SHEEN. The audio is CRYSTAL CLEAR and VIBRANT. There are NO jumps, NO sticks, NO deep scratches and only a few very light marks and feint wispy hairlines visible under a strong light, these are consistent with removing the record from the inner sleeve and general play.  It is also GREAT to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual!!!!  The record plays SUPERBLY with NO pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, barely ANY crackle AT ALL, and only some absolutely ULTRA faint touches of MEGA low level background sound on the run on grooves & gaps (clearly from the ORIGINAL pressing!) - NOT in the music AT ALL which plays SUPERBLY!!!!  The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO distortion and NO groovewear either!!!!  The record must grade FULL Excellent!!!!  A TRULY AWESOME RECORD!!!! A great original pressing of this rare heavy prog / rock album.

Notes

Here is a BRILLIANT example of this RARE ORIGINAL UK 1st PRESSING of WARHORSE's 2nd LP "RED SEA", released in 1972 on the 'SWIRL' VERTIGO label - 6360 066. This is a GENUINE VERY FIRST PRESSING!! This album was never re-issued by Vertigo. This is an outstanding copy of a truly top-noych progressive rock LP. The unlaminated gatefold cover is in STUNNING EXCELLENT near MINT condition with non of the heavy wear one normally associates with this type of non-laminted matt textured sleeve. The vinyl is also in FANTASTIC EXCELLENT condition, it plays superbly throughout with incredibly loud, crystal clear sound clarity!!! Needless to say this 1st PRESSING copy still has it's original 'SWIRL' VERTIGO inner bag.

THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1972 UK VERTIGO 1ST PRESSING ON THE 1ST PRESS VERTIGO 'SPIRAL' LABEL, 1ST PRESS VERTIGO INNER SLEEVE, AND 1ST PRESS GATEFOLD COVER!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!!!

Both sides of this fantastic album still retain their deep black shine and full lustre. As for surface marks, when you hold this album in the very brightest of lights you can see a few very light surface marks and light hairlines. In normal daylight this album is PRISTINE. Both sides play WITHOUT SCRATCHES, CLICKS OR JUMPS. I have played this album on my very sensitive and revealing LINN SONDEK and the sound is beautiful, it is full and crisp there is NO loss of sound quality at all, wonderful sound stage and stereo seperation. There are a very small amount of dust crackles that can be heard only in a couple of the very quiet parts of the music, but a professional clean should sort out most of that. This is a superb album in lovely condition. These HEAVY VINYL original UK Swirl Vertigo pressings are second to none!! This is an excellent copy that any collector would be delighted to add to their collection!!

I DOUBT IF YOU CAN FIND A MUCH BETTER CONDITION ORIGINAL UK SWIRL VERTIGO COPY OF THIS MINDBLOWING HEAVY PROG / ROCK LP - THIS IS ONE OF THE VERY BEST VERTIGO LP'S AND INDEED IS ONE OF THE FINEST EARLY 70's UK HEAVY PROG ROCK LP'S BAR NONE!!!!

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS ON THE COLLECTABLE VERTIGO LABEL AND GETTING VERY HARD TO FIND THESE DAYS!!!

IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY YOU SHOULDN'T MISS THIS ONE!!!

THERE CAN'T BE MANY LEFT IN THIS LOVELY CONDITION. A TRULY INCREDIBLE HEAVY PROGRESSIVE GEM!!

MINT (M): The record displays barely any signs of use, if any, with no marks or deterioration in sound quality. Extra items and cover are near perfect.

EXCELLENT (EX): Shows only minor signs of being played with very little lessening in sound quality. The Cover and extras will have some light wear and or creasing

VERY GOOD (VG): Has been played many times but has no major deterioration in sound quality, despite some noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches. Cover and extras will have normal wear and tear but no major defects

GOOD (G): Has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and any extras may suffer from folding, scuffing, split spine, discoloration etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable and has considerable surface noise and may even jump. Cover and contents will be torn stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly. Covers badly damaged or partly missing

Packing Procedures: All 12" / LPs are securely and well packed in top quality material to avoid any unnecessary damage during transit. When posted the records are removed from the cover, if possible, and placed in a PVC outer protective sleeve to prevent sleeve splits in the post. I use brand new mailers, either the envelope style with thick stiffeners to prevent any sleeve bends in transit, or the "cruciform" style that wrap around the LP. I aim to dispatch all items within 48 hours of receiving payment. It is recommended that you choose the insurance option for higher value items. As stated above I cannot be held responsible for any item(s) lost or damaged in the post that are not shipped via insured / registered mail. I always obtain a certificate proof of posting receipt for every item sent, which will complete our transaction. Thank you for taking the time to look at my listings, I hope you will be lucky if deciding to make a bid.
