Description
WARREN LEE
FUNKY BELLY
How is it that somebody as cool as Warren Lee only got one shot at making records at Wand. He's one of the true undiscovered stars from the New Orleans scene and has already making records in 1961 with the local Ron Records label. That was just the first of many little labels like Soundex, Nola, Jin, Deesu, Tou-Sea.
He seemed to be doing all the right things, but not getting noticed! This one's from March of 1969 and is the only record that Warren Lee cut for Wand. The topside is "Funky Belly" which has turned into quite the funk classic, especially over in the UK. On the flip you'll hear "Born In The Ghetto" which was the intended 'A' side.
