American metal band W.A.S.P. began their decades long career a little over FORTY years ago, in 1982. By 1984, the debut album was released, and people started to take notice. 80s hair metal was nearing in its peak, and WASP was predicted to become a HUGE band. (Kevin DuBrow famously stated that WASP would become the biggest band in the world!) Though WASP didn't reach that superstar status, they DID last all these years, and is still around today! The last studio album came out in 2018, and a 2024 tour is scheduled through next year, making up dates missed during the pandemic.
When that '84 debut was released, it blew us all away! The imagery alone was wild and crazy. The singing, though not terrible, was maybe their weakest attribute. The music, however, was loud, fast, and rocking! Guitarist Chris Holmes just shredded and made that axe sound like a banshee!
In today's blistering good deal, we have up for grabs a copy of that debut, and on picture disc LP! From Madfish Music, it's that first album, and in a special die-cut sleeve. The sleeve looks fantastic, and is in really, really great shape! The back of the sleeve is band pics and song titles. The back of the pic disc itself is a sort of collage of more band pics. And the A side is that vintage album's cover, inspired by both Alice Cooper and Kiss! Give the gift of music this year with a picture disc from W.A.S.P., the spooky, blood drinking out a skull, fast, and loud 80s metalhead band!
