Blackie Lawless launched W.A.S.P. on the unsuspecting world in 1983, and before long tales of their outrageous music and intense stage shows were legendary. This album proves that while the theatrics and shock tactics of Blackie Lawless might have gained the headlines, it was what they did on record that gained them legions of fans.
Includes the band’s legendary first single Animal (Fuck Like A Beast) which the original label, Capitol, chose to omit from the album when it was released.
"It was all about shock for W.A.S.P. , be it flaming codpieces, tying a semi-naked woman to a torture rack mid-set, tossing raw meat into the audience or Blackie Lawless’ own stupefying arrogance… One thing is for certain, in the annals of metal there are very few bands like W.A.S.P." Metal Hammer
"If anyone ever tries to tell you that W.A.S.P.'s self-titled debut disc ain't their best effort by far, don't listen to them." TERRORIZER
