Description
The superhero movie set in the 80s called 'Watchmen' came out in 2009. Directed by Zack Synder, it's rather dark, and different from the usual big budget comic book movies. Reviews are mixed, as some loved it, and others hated it. They did, however, spend a LOT of money making it, and they seemed to have stayed true to the comic. It cost between $130 and $150 million to make, but only made $185.5 million at the box office, so not a huge moneymaker for Paramount, DC, Warner Brothers, and Legendary Pictures, all who had a hand in the film.
Up for your consideration today is a double shot of 'Watchmen' cool collectibles! First up is a copy of the 12" picture disc released, with a song on each side. Side A is is a song by the band My Chemical Romance, and is titled "Desolation Row". The B side is by Tyler Bates, who did the music for the movie, and is called "Prison Fight". The A side is a smiley face pic (with a bullet hole), and the B side pic is a shot from the film. An awesome 'Watchmen' 12" vinyl records to own! This comes in its original clear PVC jacket, which is no longer sealed. Bought used, but since I never play specialty vinyl, I can't vouch for the sound quality. Vinyl looks great, however, but the jacket has splits on three of the four sides. Hype sticker in good shape.
For the second shot of this 'Watchmen' double shot, I'll include the 'Ultimate Cut' of the movie, and on Blu-ray disc! It's the three disc box set, but the third disc, which was the digital copy, is no longer available. But what IS available is one Blu-ray of that 'Ultimate Cut' version, which clocks in at TWO HUNDRED FIFTEEN minutes! Plus, an extra disc of TONS of special features! And yes, 'Tales of the Black Freighter' is edited in throughout the movie! (Fans will know what I'm talking about...)
The discs look great, and are still all shiny and clean. Third digital copy disc missing, as mentioned. Case is the gatefold digipak, and that's looking really good also! A very cool double shot TWO item set from the movie 'Watchmen', and HOURS of the film shown the way it was originally intended to be seen (before the studio made them chop it up)! That's over THREE AND A HALF hours of comic book and superhero bliss! Plus hours more with the special features!
