WATERPROOF TINKERTOY Satisfaction b/w It All Fits Together
1967 45 RPM 7” CAITLIN RECORDS CA-101
Can’t find any info on this band online, but they uncorked a masterpiece with this cover of Satisfaction!
Satisfaction opens with great funky drums, then comes gritty Hammond organ chord punches followed by a funky bass line (somewhat James Jamerson-like) with the classic fuzz guitar riff. Singer has a very gritty blues-y rock’n’roll voice – think of Mark Lindsay at his toughest with Paul Revere and the Raiders (Steppin’ Out; Hungry). This track also reminds me of The Young Rascals at their punkiest. It is a very original and unique take on this Rolling Stones classic. It manages to be a mix of blues, rock, punk, garage, psych, funk and soul all at the same time. Probably the best cover I’ve ever heard of Satisfaction (stacks up against Devo and Phyllis Diller!).
B SIDE (It All Fits Together) is bubble gum pop cum blue-eyed soul.
CONDITION
DISC (VISUAL GRADING) = looks VG+.
DISC (AURAL GRADING) = plays VG+.
A SIDE has light background noise, mostly inaudible once music starts. One light pop at the approximately 2:35 mark and a couple of pops right as track fades out.
B SIDE has light background noise, mostly inaudible once music starts.
