The Weavers REUNION AT CARNEGIE HALL, 1963 - Vanguard VSD-2150 - TAS - STUNNING!
On the TAS list, in the popular category, there are only ten albums from all of recorded literature that have ever been favored with the "Best of the Bunch" honor.
This is one.
The Weavers' REUNION, in fact, is renowned for its audio capture, particularly in the sense of how alive and utterly natural it sounds…as if, yes, you are sitting right there in the concert hall. (Believe me, Carnegie is no slouch in the acoustics department.)
If you are unfamiliar with the famous folk group, the music here includes tunes like WHEN THE SAINTS GO MARCHING IN, WOKE UP THIS MORNING, IF I HAD A HAMMER, GOODNIGHT IRENE, and RAMBLIN' BOY, among others.
Cover of this classic is still within its original shrink-wrap, record within will play near mint. Just a mat scuff or two and a paper scuff, is all.
FINAL NOTE: This is truly a classic in recorded literature, and an excellent audio demonstration record of what "live" can truly sound like. Not to be missed.
