The bidders should note that this is a rare Bob Ludwig-mastered “hot pressing” of this album, with his initials “RL” (Robert Ludwig) etched in the trail-off vinyl of the disc. All the wonderful elements of Bob Ludwig’s trademark mastering style are here: incredible clarity and balanced channel separation, vivid and spacious “ambience” sound, as well as wide dynamic and frequency range of the sound spectrum.  As is almost always the case with Bob Ludwig’s masterings, the Bob Ludwig-mastered pressings of this album are CONSIDERABLY rarer than the regular, non-Ludwig copies of this album.

What an intriguing album – this sister duo had the help of seasoned session players and went to town crafting a genuine psych flower power pop gem. There’s sparse arrangements with organ and acoustic moves (‘Children Laughing’ & ‘The Paisley Window Pane’) to briskly paced full instrumentation pop rock (‘Let Yourself Go Another Time’) to psych pop (‘Endless Pathway’ & ‘Its What’s Really Happening’). A beautifully recorded set showcasing the writing and singing talents of two young sisters.

Beautiful West Coast, beaded-curtain light psychedelia. Nothing on this lost classic is overdone. Sisters Wendy, age 17, and Bonnie, 13, sing their slinky and swaying original songs backed by a small band of seasoned jazz and pop session men whose arrangements transmit a tasteful spaciness. The title of the song "Five O'Clock in the Morning" sums up the haunting, wee-hours atmosphere here.

The PROMOTIONAL, RADIO STATION-, AUDITION OR DEMONSTRATION COPIES AND RELEASES (such as the one we have here) were often distributed among the radio stations before the record was released to the public, sometimes as much as four months ahead. These records are generally considered to be the "first among equals", which is to say the VERY FIRST generation and the VERY FIRST pressings of the particular title; a PROTOTYPE and the earliest known official pressing of the record.

The record itself is not in the greatest condition.  It has its share of surface scuffs and marks. No skips, but there are crackles and pops when played.  (See video to see visible wear). This is admittedly not the most collectible copy to own,  but it will hold you down for the time being until a better copy comes along.  That being said,  it is still a tremendously rare record,  given that it is the extremely rare Gold Label Promo, and also the cover is in much better shape than the record itself.
