Description
Here's JANE GREEN again, the genius Vaudevillienne who, by dint of her natural great musicianship, advanced popular singing to the next level in the '20s, before anyone realized that there WAS a next level!
On "WE'RE BACK TOGETHER AGAIN" Jane sings with power and enthusiasm, gleefully projecting her voice, comet-like, over the raggy accompaniment. As usual, she swings mightily, enunciates cosmically, and gives out with an aura of pure joy. "GOT NO TIME" on the flip - an equally good performance - is a superior Richard Whiting-Gus Kahn song, which extols the joy of de-facto Liberatarianism!
Recorded in May, 1925, this is a brilliant Western Electric recording, Jane's first. It captures her at the peak of her career and vocal prowess! Taking no prisoners, she will bowl you over.
This original, "Bat-Wing" "Orthophonic" Victor 19687 is in lovely EE- condition. A tinge of scuffing, but no wear and no real damage.
*****
These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
