Wes Montgomery - “Road Song” A&M / CTI Records SP-3012 (Stereo) from 1968. Hard to Find Original Stereo First Pressing of this great Jazz album from Wes Montgomery with backing from Herbie Hancock, Hank Jones, Ed Shaughnessy, Grady Tate, Don Hammond, Stan Webb, Bernie Glow, Marvin Stamm, Wayne Andre, Richard Davis, Don Ashworth and many more. Produced by Creed Taylor, Arranged by Don Sebesky. Engineered by Rudy Van Gelder at his Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs, N.J. First pressing on the Olive Green with Black Print A&M / CTI labels and in the Original Gatefold Sleeve with no Cutouts, Promo markings or Barcode. On this version, "CTI" is listed on the Labels, Creed Taylor's name is in Script and the inside of the Gatefold Cover is Olive Green. Includes the Original Printed A&M Inner Sleeve. This is a Monarch Los Angeles Pressing as indicated by the Runout / Matrix numbers that read:

CONDITION

The Gatefold Sleeve is in nice shape. There is some very slight shelf wear and corner softening - really mostly just some slight dirtiness on the white of the cover. Still very solid with no splits, stains, writing, cutouts, tears, etc. and would rate VG+. The Vinyl itself is in clean Glossy condition looking lightly played. If you look closely you can spot a few slight scuffs and hairlines. Plays pretty much perfectly Near Mint all through but with 2 or 3 soft tics - nothing that distracts. Might be further improved by a better cleaning than I can give with my Discwasher brush. I’m calling it VG+ to account for the slight flaws but mostly plays WAY better. The labels are Near Mint.

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. I provide Play Grades as a courtesy but only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less! If you are not satisfied that a purchase meets my description, I will do what I can to make it right if you give me the chance and work with me! Please feel free to check my feedback.
