WEST COAST REVIVAL- S/T LP (ORIGINAL LA INTERNATIONAL RECORDS (INDEPENDANT), GG58002, 1977). Wax- EX+, Cover- EX+. Now were getting in to the really heavy rarity stuff. This lp never shows up on ebay, think the last time I saw a copy was about 3-4 years ago and that was about the same time I saw it on a respectable dealers list for $300. Maybe your one and only chance to get hold of this soul-funk bomb!!! One of the tracks from this lp was compiled on the LUV'N'HAIGHT comp TRIPPIN- THE GROOVE MERCHANT COMPILATION from '96, so you know this aint no average run of the mill shit, cause they dont mess around in terms of quality, i.e. MIGHTY RYDERS, DON CUNNINGHAM, HARRY WHITAKER, TURNER BROTHERS etc etc. The tracks for me are......FEELIN ALRIGHT, a slow groovin funksoul no. with some nice breakbeat drumming and fat bass, inc a heavy open percussion break 2/3 way through.............FREE is a slow burning soul tune with a nice hook with strings..............the best track though is MY MIND IS AT EASE, a wicked heavy soulfunk percussion breakbeat tune............the last track FAMILIAR PLACES is a baaad souljazz sounding tune with just a smattering of vocals.
