WHITE STRIPES "Lafayette Blues / Sugar Never Tasted So Good" 7"
Italy Records #006
WHITE VINYL! SIGNED BY JACK WHITE!
First pressing white vinyl copy of their long outta print and extremely rare second single on Italy. Signed by Jack White when they were on their first tour of Australia in late 2000.This record has been played a miximum of three times and has been kept in tightly secured storage ever since. It is in near mint condition, and plays without the faintest hint of a scratch or surface noise.
Authenticity guaranteed by me since I bought it off him at the merch desk, and I watched him sign it. With my pen, even.
Sleeve is very pretty two-sided affair. Red and white lollipops adorn the outside which you can see. Full colour photos grace the inside of the sleeve, which includes an extra flap, folding inside.
The record also comes with two small inserts; one a picture of Lafayette and George Washington, the other a reprint of a quote from the Marquis de Chastelleux after attending an American party with Marquis de Lafayette which I will reprint here for your amusement and to further convince you of the genuineness and exquisite collectability of this quirky 45rpm record:
"This was the first time I had heard music in America and been present at any sort of social gathering. If the inhabitants of this New World awake to a sense of the fine arts and learn to be gay and social without formal invitations and stiff inroductory ceremony, they will not need to envy us anything."
