WHITESNAKE: RECORDED LIVE READING ROCK 26/8/1979 Cat No. CN 3440/S
This is a rare one! Featuring Whitesnake's brilliant set from the 1979 Reading Festival, which was broadcast on BBC Radio 1. It begins with a spoken intro by the late BBC presenter Brian Matthew, but is thereafter a solid 50 minutes of classic British rock, track list as follows:
Side 1 1. Walking In The Shadow Of The Blues 2. Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City 3. Steal Away (begins with a long Micky Moody solo spot) 4. Belgian Tom's Hat Trick
Side 2 1. Mistreated/Soldier Of Fortune 2. Love Hunter 3. Breakdown
CONDITION OF VINYL The vinyl has retained much of its original lustre and doesn't appear to have been subject to heavy play. There are a few visible lines on each side, but the stylus passes through these without any issues at all. The whole LP plays superbly well, with little or no surface noise detectable. Play-grade would be EX+, but due to the surface marks mentioned, the overall grade is VG+.
CONDITION OF SLEEVE As you will see from the photos the outer sleeve is a basic die-cut BBC Transcription Services card sleeve. This is mostly in decent shape, apart from some flattening of the spine and a little staining on the front right-hand edge near the top. Overall grade is VG.
