A real oddity here and one I'm reluctantly parting with. All the facts I've gleaned are from the Mutant Sounds blog and from studying the frankly baffling art. What's clear is that this slab of DIY art Damage was recorded by two self-made psych-folk punks in 1979 and the whole process was funded by their followers. The copy up on Mutant Sounds is the standard edition while the one for sale is a suoper limited edition of 100. Let me explain. This LP comes with a xeroxed insert hand written and signed by 'William Wilding,' on which Wilding states that the record is to be funded by a hundred donors who will send him £10 in order to press up the sleeves and press the LPs. In return for this £10 donors will get a hand signed LP with an insert personally thanking each person and in addition the donor will get their passport photograph printed on the rear! Sure enough, the insert is dedicated to 'Kevin' and on the rear there is indeed a person called Kevin staring out at us. A shame really that Kevin felt it wasn't worth keeping and sold his prize possession into a second hand record shop!

So what have we got here? Well, musically the group would fit easily in with the gonzo surrealism of the late 70s art punk movement (see The Homosexuals, Steve Treatment) but there's also a real loose-wire, deranged feel like an ecstatic Comus tripping out on some deptford street. It's entirely naked music so with out art that it's astounding to listen to. For me it would fit onto the Messthetics comps easily except it's possibly to messed up for even that set of weirdos. The sleeve is amazing and features what must be the group (ostensibly a duo a la tyrannosaurus rex!) post cream-pie action. It's simultaneously creepy and absurd: much like the music! This is a real artifact of the period and comes signed on the label, hand numbered (NO 50 of 100) and is thus UTTERLY UNIQUE. I've no idea what this is worth but feel it should be in the hands of a serious DIY messthetic collector!

CONDITION OF VINYL: EXCELLENT. I feel that record grading is THE most important element to selling records on Ebay. I aim to be as honest as possible, in order to avoid complications. Both sides of this LP GLEAM like a new record! It is certainly in better condition than the record posted on Mutant Sounds. The needle glides into the groove soundlessly, and the sound production here is second to none. Honestly, it sounds brilliant and puts many major label pressings to shame. There are two or three TINY surface paper scuffs which DO NOT SOUND and are only perceptible under very close scrutiny with a strong light bulb. The labels are clean and have been hand-coloured by the artist on one side. This is a truly remarkable artifact in great second hand condition! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!

CONDITION OF SLEEVE: VERY GOOD. As I mentioned before, proper description and depiction is of the utmost importance to me. The sleeve is in great shape, with only a couple of issues which I will describe in a DETAIL; how many other sellers would explicitly point out their items' imperfections? The spine although largely stiff and intact has some rubbing wear which obscures some of the text, but not much. The front and rear artwork is completely unblemished be wear or any other imperfection, but there is a bit of creasing at opening which I have tried to make apparent with the photographs. Again, it isn't very noticeable and is certainly in better condition than the Mutant Sounds copy. The edges of the sleeve have some minor rubbing wear, but as you can see from the photos this is generally a nice sleeve that I have protected in a PVC sleeve since purchasing it. I keep the LP outside the sleeve as you can see where the record has caused a bit of wear from the previous owner. To be honest I feel a little silly going into so much detail: I've bought countless records online with a fraction of this sort of description and been perfectly satisfied! It's fair to say I want you to be completely sure of what you're bidding on. Again, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!

I am an avid collector of many, many genres and keep my records in IMMACULATE condition. I grade according to the Record Collector Price Guide 'Ready Reckoner' and almost NEVER sell anything which is below EXCELLENT condition. Rest assured that my EXCELLENT is bloody EXCELLENT! Oh yeah and I NEVER GRADE ANYTHING MINT THAT IS NOT SEALED!! Near Mint is the highest grading I use for unsealed records.

All records will be sent within two days MAXIMUM of receipt of payment (usually within 4/5 hours of payment received). Your record will be expertly packed in a professional brown mailer, using one or two stiffeners and housed in a PVC 12" sleeve with the record in a paper inner placed outside the sleeve as is standard practice. I've always been lucky when buying records from ebay (save the odd occasion) and would like all buyers of my records to be 100% SATISFIED!
