WILKINSON TRI-CYCLE s/t 1969 1969 Original Heavy Psych Rock lp!

1969/USA/Date Records TES 4016….. here’s a clean original pressing of this rare lp. The cover is in VG+ condition with corner/spotty seam wear, light shelf wear, clean drill hole top right corner, tight split/crack top center seam, otherwise the cover is clean and solid with no splits. The vinyl is in glossy VG++ condition with just a few light shallow scuffs/scratches and some storage staining/mottling from the inner sleeve. The record plays excellent with only light occasional noise in the odd quiet spot/between tracks. I heard 4 consecutive light ticks on the third song on side one, nothing serious or disturbing. Wilkinson Tri-Cycle's only album is similar to post-psychedelic heavy rock recordings by East Coast groups like Sir Lord Baltimore and Yesterday's Children in that they combine bluesy heavy rock with psychedelic flourishes, but the effect is largely unremarkable. The album is nonetheless treasured by European collectors, who reportedly command a high price for the LP. Highlights include their cover of Sleepy John Estes' "Leaving Trunk," popularized at the time by Taj Mahal, and the Beatlesque ballads "Poursha Poe" and the elegant "Yellow Wall." It was actually released on a little-known R&B subsidiary of CBS, Date Records. None of the band went on to any major success after the demise of the group.

GRADING

MINT: I consider only New Unplayed or Sealed items.

NM OR M- or Mint Minus is the same to me, very clean with clean visual appearance and sound, there may be a couple of light inaudible hairline scuffs or such and will be mentioned in the listing, a Mint- record looks and plays clean. Same for the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.

EXCELLENT: still very collectable for most, visually and sonicly clean. A handful of light inaudible scuffs, or hairlines. Cover will be clean with little wear, or delete. No splits.

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have a few minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much. Cover will have slight shelf wear, and or delete, minor split.

VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
