   Very hard-to-find NORTHERN SOUL 45 on Bang Bang Records out of Washington, DC.

  ** No skips. There is heavy wear on both sides, so you will hear surface noise. The A-side is the better cut, and it has less surface noise than the B-side. We have thoroughly cleaned this artifact & play tested it. Pressing is on-center, with no swinging back & forth of  the tonearm.

  We are told that William Cummings was from Richmond, Virginia and chose to let his producer David Fitzgerald cut this record in DC, where they had access to better recording studios. David Fitzgerald also wrote both sides. Great music by Zeke & the Soul Setters, with numerous instruments, full horns & rollicking piano. Walter Morris arranged this full-bodied dancing party masterpiece. We can thank Brent Hosier for including this cut on the CD, That Ol' Virginia Soul, vol. II.

  I want to try hard to accurately describe this record. There are marks over most of  the surface. None of the scratches are really major. A third of the way in, there are two very shallow one-inch by one-quarter inch indentations which are not audible on my table. I imagine the record was out of its sleeve for awhile, but when I run my finger over the entire surface, I do not feel the marks. The deep purple label looks decent: no tears, bubbles, color fading, water damage or stickers. Faint scuffing & very faint writing on both sides that is barely noticeable. In very faint & thin ballpoint ink on both sides is written "KAK." A small degree of ring wear on label. Very tiny bit of flaking on small parts of the inner rim, but the hole is cut well & on-center with a symmetrical spin. No warps. (Matrix Number: "45-YB-348-P1").
