Description
ARTIST: WILLIAM ONYEABOR
TITLE: CRASHES IN LOVE
LABEL: WILFILMS
COUNTRY: NIGERIA
YEAR: 1977
The fabled, ultra-rare classic of eccentric Nigerian funk!
This album comes in two versions--a version played on conventional instruments and a re-recording made with electronic instruments. Both are extremely difficult to come across in any condition, but the original "live" version is without a doubt much harder find... So don't miss this chance to grab it in decent condition!
(Sorry I had to end the earlier auction, folks... There were some problems with the listing that eBay said were impossible to revise without deleting the entire thing!)
CONDITION (JACKET/VINYL): G/VG
Jacket features considerable general wear and some fading, writing in ink on the front and a split seam at the bottom. Vinyl has light marks and plays with occasional light crackle, especially in quieter passages.
LISTEN TO THE SOUND CLIPS!
On May-08-13 at 05:54:45 PDT, seller added the following information:
ATTENTION: After posting this listing describing the record as having "light marks and occasional crackle," I later found that the record has more marks than I originally noticed, and the crackle is louder and more persistent on the first track "Something You Will Never Forget" than I thought! Rather than to court ill feeling by delivering an inferior product, I have decided to replace the record with a copy from my personal collection. So take note of this correction:
THE RECORD BEING OFFERED HERE IS VG+/EX!!! THE JACKET IS THE SAME ONE IN THE PHOTOS.
So please, eBay friends... Bid in confidence!!!

NOTE:The record actually sounds even better than the clips... there's a little crackle added here due to the cleaning fluid!

Obviously, it is very difficult to find these rare African records in perfect condition these days--many of them have been stored for more than a decade in humid warehouses in a tropical climate--but we strive to bring you the best quality possible under the circumstances and use fairly strict grading and detailed descriptions so that you know exactly what you are bidding on--and getting!
