Beautiful high-quality like-new limited edition LP box set: WILLIAM ONYEABOR, VOLUME I - includes his first 5 LPs, a 7" single, two booklets (8 and 16  pages), label advertising, and digital download card; issued by Luaka Bop / Wilfilms Ltd, in 2014 or 2015. Limited to 3000 hand numbered copies, and  comes with a 7" that is unavailable elsewhere (not in the CD box). The download card does NOT include the 7" single, which again is vinyl only (it is Atomic  Bomb b/w Love me Now (Man Tear Mix)). Includes his first, second, third, fifth and eighth LPs - Crashes in Love (1st version), 1977; Atomic Bomb, 1978;  Tomorrow, 1979; Great Lover, 1981; and Anything You Sow, 1985.

Onyeabor is a funk musician from Nigeria, whose songs are often heavily rhythmic and synthesized, occasionally epic in scope, with lyrics decrying war,  that are sung by both Onyeabor himself and female backing vocalists. He self-released 8 albums between 1977 and 1985 (mainly on the Luaka Bop label)  and released one more album in 2013. His music goes well beyond just funk, blending many musical styles - Afro funk, boogie, reggae, experimental, synth,  disco, electronic, moog, psych, and soul. Listen to his "Atomic Bomb" on youtube if you haven't heard it before.

Condition: MINT/MINT (it was opened but unplayed when I bought it and I listed to most of the Atomic Bomb album; the only tiny flaw is a small light wrinkle  to the Wilfilms insert ad; box is mint as well).

(Records, Vinyl, LP, 33 rpm, Box Set, Ltd Ed, Funk, Soul, Afro, Nigeria, Boogie, Electro, Psych, 1980's, 1970's)

REGARDING IMAGE QUALITY: Some of our older listings have images of poor quality; a few months ago Ebay changed their image  size policies, and I was forced to automatically enlarge the images for all of last years' remaining items, which caused them to be grainy and  blurry.

WE NEVER USE STOCK PHOTOS - all images are of actual items. WE ALMOST ALWAYS USE MULTIPLE IMAGES.
