Description
Nice reissue LP of Big Mama's classic 1950s blues cuts from original Duke and Peacock Records recordings. Including Mama's fantastic and very down and dirty, very funny original version of "Hound Dog"--yeah the song Elvis covered. Backbeat Records put this compilation out in 1974 and this is the MCA reissue of that, probably from the 80s but I can't find a date. Jacket is clearly a repro of the '70s one and is very clean, VG+ condition with just one price sticker. Vinyl sounds fantastic; looks clean and glossy and plays very well with just a very seldom/occasional little pip or pop. We grade it VG+.
