HERE IT IS! Released on the Willie Nelson Records label as number 45-628. Black label with silver lettering. The Holy Grail of Willie Nelson Records! Willie's first effort. This one is so rare that I have never seen one at auction or for sale period! Recorded in 1956 in Vancouver Washington. There were only a very limited number sold through the radio station in that town. The copy being offered here I believe came from the record library of that radio station. There are 2 stories regarding the DJ working at the radio station. The first is that Willie was working as a DJ there during the period between 1956 and 1957. The second story is that Leon Payne (the writer of Lumberjack) was working as the DJ at the station. I am not sure of which was which but in any event one of them was offering a copy of the record along with a signed photo of Willie (then unknown) over the air for the sum of $1.00 and was sent by mail to the purchaser. That was the only way to get a copy. Condition is Excellent Plus to Near Mint. It is a very nice copy. There is a small label on the B side which shows the radio station's record library number. Plays very nice with only a minimum of very light background noise. No clicks or pops. It looks near mint. You will have to look very hard to find another copy this nice (if ever). I have owned it for over 20 years and have decided to begin selling some of my collection. There is a minimum due to the rarity so bid accordingly. Please check my excellent feedback before bidding.
