Description
This is the rare audiophile LP titled "Test 1 - Digital: How Accurate?" (Wilson Audio Definitive Test Record W-8420). ------ This unusual album was put out by Dave Wilson in 1984 to try to answer some of the debate at the time regarding digital recordings that were just starting to sweep the country shorly after CD's were introduced. In this album he takes his own 30 ips analog master tapes and runs them exaclty the same way on both sides, except that on one side he runs them through digital processing. That way you can compare the pure analog mastering on side 1 with the same analog source that is digitally processed on side 2. As far as I know, this is the only attempt anyone has ever made to do this. ------ The music used for this comparison is Mark Wetch - Ragtime Piano, from the album "Ragtime Razmatazz III", and Eddie Graham Trio from the album "S' Wonderful Jazz". ------ I've never seen one of these come up for sale, let alone a sealed copy like this one. ------------------ The jacket is perfect with no splits. The plastic bag is completely intact with no rips or tears. I never got around to listening to this album, sot it has been stored upright in my non-smoking home since it was purchased direclty from Wilson Audio a quarter of a century ago. ****************************** Please see my other ads for more unusual and rare audiophile items including MFSL half speed LP's and gold CD's.
