Description
Up for auction is a very nice copy of the classic Wilson Pickett album "In The Midnight Hour" originally released in the U.S. on Atlantic Records (8114) in 1965.
-Guaranteed original First Pressing, not reissue like most for sale on eBay -Original Mono pressing -Original paste-down cover -Correct Red & Purple "Black Fan" Atlantic labels -No UPC/bar code on cover -From my personal collection
Condition: The cover is still in very nice condition with only minor signs of age and wear. Front is bright and colorful with a touch of rub in top and bottom middle. Back is clean, bone white, with a light hint of age coloring. No writing, no ring wear. Has a small moisture spot along bottom edge. Seams are strong, intact, no splits or cracking--just some light rub here and there. Overall, still a very attractive well-preserved cover, very collectible. Grade: Very Good Plus Plus (VG++).
The vinyl is also in very nice condition, still retains much of its original shine. No serious scratches or scuffs, but does have several very light, superficial hairlines and small marks which cannot be felt, nor do they affect the quality of the playback. Labels are clean, unmarked.
Play-Tested: When played in the recommended Mono Mode, the sound quality of this record is Excellent, very clear and clean. No significant surface noise, no loud pops or ticks. Full-bodied mono fidelity. Not audiophile clean, but none of these originals are. Still, a very nice sounding rare original pressing. Grade: Very Good Plus Plus (VG++), considering the sound quality, better than most VG+ copies.
