Description
WILSON PICKETT
LET ME BE YOUR BOY
Wilson Picket sure was the soul powerhouse in the 1960s. After cutting some tremendous pre-soul 45s with The Falcons in the late '50s, he went solo and began a legacy of grooves with Double-L Records in 1963. After moving to Atlantic in 1965 he really hit his stride: "In The Midnight Hour," "634-5789," "Land Of 1,000 Dances," "Mustang Sally" and "Funky Broadway" took him right into the late '60s.
Somehow in the middle of all those hits for Atlantic, Wilson Pickett found himself with one release on Verve Records, soul gold mined from some old sessions they bought and had now issued in December of 1965. Tracks here are “Let Me Be Your Boy” and “My Heart Belongs To You.” This is the seldom seen early, stock pressing on the black Verve label.
CONDITION: NEAR MINT in original company sleeve as shown.
