Wings: Paul McCartney (bass, guitar, vocals); Denny Laine (guitar, background vocals); Jimmy McCulloch (guitar); Linda McCartney (keyboards, background vocals); Joe English (drums). Additional personnel: Dave Mason (guitar); Tom Scott (saxophone); Allen Toussaint (piano); Geoff Britton (drums); Afro (congas). All songs written by Paul McCartney except "Medicine Jar" (Jimmy McCulloch/Colin Allen) and "Crossroads Theme" (Tony Hatch). This album is an interesting mix of musical styles, punctuated by Paul McCartney's unerring sense of melody and hooky songs. Along with founding members Paul McCartney, Linda McCartney & Denny Laine, recent additions Jimmy McCulloch (ex-Thunderclap Newman) Joe English rounded out the band on guitar and drums respectively. Guests for these sessions (partially recorded at New Orleans' famed Sea Saint Studios) included N'awlins pianist Allen Toussaint, saxophonist Tom Scott and guitarist Dave Mason. The highlights include the hard-rocking anthem "Rock Show" (later used to great effect in the Rock For Kampuchea benefit concert five years later) and the gently nostalgic "You Gave Me The Answer," Macca's tribute to the sounds of vaudeville introduced to him by his late father. Elsewhere, the mysticism of the French Quarter is embedded within "Spirits Of Ancient Egypt" while New Orleans' rich R&B tradition is all over the horn-laden "Call Me Back Again." The bouncy number one single "Listen To What The Man Said" also contrasts nicely with the melancholic title track.

Condition of Vinyl:- Both sides of the disc have light signs of use only .............. Minimal play , just one very light surface marks on side one only (very light!) Great sound throughout : Graded at EXCELLENT / EXCELLENT+ condition.

Label Condition:- Both labels have no wear , minimal spindle use evident : EXCELLENT++ condition.

Condition of Sleeve:- The Gatefold Sleeve has only the most minimal of signs of wear , no ringwear , beautifully crisp, bright and clean , minimal edge and corner use , no spine use: Graded in EXCELLENT+ / Near MINT condition.

The Two Large Posters (folded) have no wear : MINT condition.

The 'Planet' strip is in Mint condition.

The 4 inch diameter Venus & Mars Sticker is in MINT condition.

The card Liner Sleeve has very light ringwear : EXCELLENT condition.

I do not believe it is necessary to use the eBay buzzwords such as 'Stunning!! Rare!! Awsome!!, padded out with grossly long winded descriptions , many of the 'experts' who use this method of selling also add technical information , which is totally unfounded and incorrect to actual facts , and would be laughable , but for the fact that it is misleading........ I take time and care to grade items correctly and only list quality records, with concise and accurate grading descriptions......................

I have been a lifelong music fan , my first concert visit was in 1957 (Birmingham Town Hall Skiffle Contest!) and have bought records of all the great music since 1959 , and had the privelege of seeing most of the great artists live too (I saw The Beatles twice........and Segovia!)
