Description
WINSTON MATTHEWS: SUN IS SHINING/INN-KEEPERS: ME FRIEND (Banana 45) 1971. Rare as hens teeth collectors Nightmare from the Wailing Souls lead singer Winston Pipe Matthews recorded at Studio One and licensed to UK subsidiary Banana. Has been in my possession since the late 70s since I bought it along with a batch of other Banana/Bamboos in a sale at Dub Vendor. A couple of years ago I sold Marcia Griffiths ‘Shimmering Star’ to a Japanese collector for just under £500.
The record has been stored within my collection on it’s spine in a cupboard for over 45 years and has been played on a Systemdek turntable about 15 times at most.
The vinyl is visually almost pristine albeit with a bit of dust which I would prefer the buyer to clean. The labels are spotless with a nicely cut centre hole.The record is housed in it’s original generic sleeve and poly outer.
The disk has recently been repressed by Studio One on the Musik City label with the Inn Keepers credited as the Purpleites.

Another copy has sold for £399.29 on Discogs in the past and they list an available copy described as VG+ for £400. Popsike accounts for only 4 copies sold since 2012.
