Hello and welcome to this auction for a 'Beatles - With The Beatles' 1963 mono vinyl LP!


This particular pressing is the corrected mono version of With The Beatles. When I say corrected, I am referring to the "Got A..." correction instead of "Gotta..." on earlier versions. What makes this particular record collectible is the EJ Day sleeve. It is much less common that the Garrod and Lofthouse manufactured sleeve. A good example too!

Condition:

Vinyl (visual): 

Side 1 - the visual condition of the record isn't too bad with hairline marks and scratches in places. Nothing that I can feel however. Retains a nice gloss and shine. Currently rated as VERY GOOD. Label is rated as VERY GOOD.

Side 2 - same as Side 1! Nothing to mention here - the usual age-related marks from a record of this age. 


Audio: I have play-tested the record in it's entirety. I can happily say that there are NO SKIPS, NO JUMPS AND NO STICKS on my system! There is some light crackle on the run ins but the audio has that fantastic rich mono warmth and there's surprisingly a lot of clarity in the music! Light crackle never interferes with the music and every instrument and part can be heard clearly - plays a lot better than it looks. There are some repetitive pops here and there (track 3 Side 1) that may clean out but I haven't attempted to do so. Rated as VERY GOOD+.


Sleeve: The original 1963 EJ Day mono flipback sleeve is currently rated as a strong VERY GOOD. The front of the sleeve has a lovely gloss and shine but it does have some light ringwear and edgewear. The rear of the sleeve has some discolouration in places with the usual wear and tear to the flipbacks. They are still held down tightly though. Free from splits and writing! The spine is fully readable but appears to have been a bit pinched at some point. 


Overall, a decent example of a collectible variation of this great classic album.
