Description

Very Scarce 1970 U.K. Plum/Red Atlantic 1st Pressing 'Woodstock - Music From The Original Soundtrack & More'!!!  Incredibly Cool UK Triple Vinyl 1st Press with 1st Press A1//B1//C1//D1//E2//F1 Matrix + Tri-fold E.J. Day Sleeve!!!  In Superb Nr Mint Vinyl Condition with Stunning Ex++ Sleeve - The Best Example I have Seen!!!

You are bidding on the awesome 'Woodstock' triple LP set!!! This is a superb live album recorded form the legendary festival featuring awesome performances from the likes of The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Canned Heat, Sly & The Family Stone plus tons more!!! An essential album documenting a landmark of modern musical history. However, what makes this particular copy so rare is that it is the earliest possible UK 1st pressing!!! This record is usually only found on 2nd press green/orange Atlantic labels with 2nd press Robor sleeves and later matrixes. This copy however is the earliest UK 1st pressing!!! Firstly it has the earliest 1/1/1/1/1/1 Stampers on the run-off wax, followed by the A1//B1//C1//D1//E2//F1 1st press matrix!!! And of course these records have the 1st press plum/red Atlantic record labels!!! Importantly, this record comes complete with its true 1st press E.J. Day Tri-fold Un-laminated Sleeve!!! Please note, the 1st pressings of this album only came with the E.J. Day sleeve!!! I say this because I have seen these 1st press sleeves swapped over with the later Robor sleeves more than once. Dealers sometimes use the later Robor sleeves to house the 1st press discs because there were generally more sturdy and kept their shape better than the fragile 1st press E.J. Day sleeves.  However, rest assured that you are getting the true 1st press E.J. Day tri-fold sleeve that originally came with these 1st press discs!!! And it, like the records, is in superb excellent condition!!! It is a superb example and certainly the best I have come across in recent years. Well worth adding to any high grade psych collection!!! A very rare album to find as a true uK 1st pressing. Please see below for a description and photo's, and if you are not sure of anything feel free to ask. Good luck!!!

The Classic 1st press Plum/Red 1st press Atlantic centre labels are all in Mint- condition!!! They have NO Tears, NO Scribbles. NO lifting or Bubbling, NO Grubbiness and NO unwanted writing of any kind to whatsoever!!! There is only the very lightest spindle wear and that's it!!!

The first thing you notice about these discs is their incredible weight and thickness!!! A clear indication that they are indeed, 1st pressings, straight from the master press!!! All THREE discs are in Stunning condition with NO scratches or groovewear etc. They just have one or two light hairlines and that's it!!! Each record still retains ALL its original gloss and shine and has NO dulling and NO nasty greying of the grooves (groovewear)!!! They easily all greade as Ex at the very least!!!

The fragile 1st press E.J. Day tri-fold sleeve is also in superb condition and is easily the best example I have seen in a very long time!!!  As I mentioned above, these sleeves suffered considerable wear (remember they had to carry around 3 heavy 1st press slabs of vinyl!!), with edge wear, spine wear and ring wear all very common and usually quite severe. However, I can happily say that this one suffers virtually NONE of these afflictions, it is a real beauty!!! Although not mint, is one of the best you will find and it has retained all of its beautiful satin sheen and displays superbly. It is also important to note that it has retained all of its original stiffness (not gone floppy and lifeless like most around today) and has NO Tears, and NO unwanted writing or scribbling of any kind anywhere!!!  Secondly, there is virtually NONE of the ring wear you will normally see on this sleeve!!! The seams are all tight and intact. There is some corner wear as you would expect with this sleeve, but it is not as sever as most around today. There are also one or two light creases on the front side but they are hardly noticeable!!! All in all, a stunning example of this very rare sleeve that easily grades as Excellent!!! Believe me, like all my other records this is in no way over-graded!!! A truly superb example of an incredibly rare sleeve!!!

This is complete with ALL original 1st press poly-lined 'Warning Box' inner sleeves which have the correct 'British Patent No.' text and the 'Made in England' text. The are all blemish free with intact poly-linings, and have no unwanted writing/scribbles etc. on them. It is also very important to note that none of the sleeve have seam wear or splits, all have mint seams and opening edges with no tears, nicks etc. There is just some creasing and that's abut it!!! A classic must-have album for any high-grade psych/prog collection. An absolutely essential (and massively rare) UK 1st pressing!!! Don't miss this one!!!

I will be selling my entire UK 1st Press collection of 1960/70's Psych/Prog./Beat/Rock & Folk over the coming months, most of these records are in Mint- condition, many having 3 figure book prices. We always combine postage so if you win more than 1 auction you save money on postage costs! We will only ship to non-UK countries via Airmail - we do not use surface mail, it is way too slow and thus increases the risk of records being damaged during transit.

A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up  - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. If you don't add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will not get a refund. Can we be any clearer? I think not.

Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
