Description

Nice copy of this cool WYNTON KELLY LP! LP is self-titled and was released in 1958 on the Riverside Records label with catalogue number RLP-12-254. Features both trio and quartet recordings. Mono recording. First pressing with deep-groove, navy blue Riverside labels. NICE!
PERSONNEL:  WYNTON KELLY (piano); KENNY BURRELL (guitar); PHILLY JOE JONES (drums); PAUL CHAMBERS (bass).  Produced by ORRIN KEEPNEWS ; liner notes by Keepnews, as well; recorded by AARON NATHANSON at Metropolitan Sound Studios; jacket design by PAUL BACON from a cool photograph by PAUL WELLER.

GOLDMINE STANDARD GRADING (VISUAL): NM-/VG+ -  Nice, clean, shiny NM vinyl with only one exceedingly light and totally superfluous surface mark. Looks like the LP was probably played maybe twice! Deep-blue, deep-groove Riverside labels are clean, unsullied by marks or wear, and look new -- colours still bright and vivid, paper looks crisp, etc. Jacket is VG+ with light overall wear, including very, very light ringwear. The top and bottom opening end corners have a small (approx. 1") piece of yellowed tape on them, but it doesn't appear that the seams were ever split! No other seams are split or worn. Altogether, an excellent copy of this powerful Kelly/Burrell session!!!
