Available here is a rare box set for the classical music / opera fan:
Richard Wagner's' "Die Walkure" (The Valkyrie) with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by George Solti. This is a box set with (5) LPs and a 48-page booklet, all in top condition. This is the UK pressing, made in England.
Die Walküre (The Valkyrie) is the second of the four music dramas that constitute Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen (English: The Ring of the Nibelung). It was performed, as a single opera, at the National Theatre Munich on June 26, 1870, and received its first performance as part of the Ring cycle at the Bayreuth Festspielhaus August 14, 1876.
This is the stereo version (OSA 1509), released in 1966 on London ffrr Records. This box set came from the collection of an audiophile, and I'm grading this vinyl (all five discs) as NM, There are only two small hairlines visible across the lot of five discs. Extremely glossy.
The box is also in top condition, clean as can be and a hinge in perfect working condition, VG++. The 48-page booklet is very clean. The original London paper liners with plastic center are included (all are in great shape), and all labels are clean and complete.
For the Wagner fan / classical music fan / opera fan, this "Die Walkure" box set is a must; you will be hard-pressed to find this item in better condition anywhere. Please see photos for more detail and make this collectible, classical box set yours today!
