German pressed Deutsche Grammophon 19 LP luxury set with large 150 pp hardback book, 2720 051, stereo.Book is 150 pp, and contains full libretto, extensive notes and b/w photos, with colour frontis portrait of Wagner, and text in German, English, French and Italian.
Vinyl in super clean near mint condition, with no marks and clean as new surfaces and labels. I've inspected each one of the LPs and just a couple of light hairlines around the spindle areas throughout the entire set prevent me from grading this as a mint, but the vinyl really is impeccable.
Packaging is also very clean and without major faults. The packing that contains the individual operas is in near new condition. The hardback book is clean and internally without creases, tears, marks or stains. The dustjacket for the book is clean and complete. However, possibly due to being a snug fit within the box, it has suffered some small and neat closed tears to extremeties, and the previous owner has neatly repaired these areas with sellotape, probably also as a safeguard to prevent these areas from snagging and damaging further on removal and reinsertion back into the box. Restoration is sympathetic, and book still has a good general appearance. Outer box is clean and complete with no major defects. There is the very slightest of shelf/storage rubbing to the extremeties, but this is really minimal. Overall still in really good and solid presentable condition, still very bright and fresh, and without sunning.
Postage & Packing/Shipping Costs:Deutsche Grammophon are renowned for their elaborate, no expense spared packaging, and this set is no exception. This does have an impact on postage costs, however, this set is heavy.
I've weighed the set and the approx. amount of packing material I'll be using and this will come to approx. 8.5 kg. I prefer not to pack the set before auction end should there be questions about the item, so the prices below are estimates, but I'm pretty sure that they will not be out by any significant amount.
